    Program Overview

    About the Program

UNDA Medicine offers an assured BMedSci/MD pathway — 3 years of Medical Science followed by 4 years of the Doctor of Medicine. The program is relatively new (only 2 years old as of 2026) and operates across two campuses: Sydney (Broadway) and Perth (Fremantle), each with 20 domestic school-leaver places.

Unlike older UNDA programs, the current program requires the UCAT. Interview invitations are issued solely based on UCAT scores. The Perth campus is generally less competitive than Sydney for admission.

Up to 10 places nationally are reserved for rural candidates and 10 for Indigenous candidates.

    Key Tips

    • Questions delivered via pre-recorded video — no live interviewer interaction
    • You must split the 5 minutes between both questions yourself
    • Mix of scenario-based and personal questions
    • Second question appears after the first — not simultaneously

    Key Insight:

Time management is critical. With only 5 minutes for 2 questions, aim for ~2.5 minutes each. Practice under timed conditions to build confidence.

    The UNDA Medicine Interview

    MMI
    7 × 5-minute stations (online, pre-recorded questions)

A circuit of short, independent stations. You read a prompt, respond for a fixed time, then move to a new assessor and an unrelated scenario.

We have not verified UNDA's interview dates for the current cycle. Undergraduate interviews across Australia generally run from November to mid-January, with invitations from mid-October — but check UNDA's own admissions page for your year rather than relying on that range.

How to prepare for a MMI interview

    • Your worst station matters more than your best. Assessors do not confer, and scores are aggregated across the circuit, so consistency beats brilliance.
    • Practise finishing slightly early rather than being cut off. An assessor can only score what they actually hear.
    • Drill the reset between stations. Carrying frustration from a bad station into the next one turns one weak score into three.
    • Structure beats content at this length. Signpost your answer — say how many points you will make, then make them.
