About the Program
USyd Medicine offers a combined BSc/MD or BA/MD pathway — 3 years of an undergraduate degree followed by 4 years of the Doctor of Medicine. This 7-year program is designed for the highest-achieving school-leavers, with only approximately 30 domestic places available.
Unlike most other medical programs, USyd does not require the UCAT. Selection is based entirely on meeting the ATAR threshold followed by interview performance. Students must maintain a minimum 65 WAM in their undergraduate degree to progress to the MD.
Total course fees are approximately $73,000 for the full program.

USyd is one of the few undergraduate medical programs that does not require the UCAT. If you can achieve a 99.95 ATAR (or meet the lower threshold for rural/My Sydney/Indigenous pathways), your interview performance is the only factor that determines whether you receive an offer.
Interview Guide
Written Component
The written component consists of standard medical interview questions answered in written form. This tests your ability to articulate your thoughts clearly and concisely on paper.
Group Interview
Key Insight:
The group interview works like a facilitated discussion. A staff member poses a question, then the floor is open. You need to add meaningful contributions without repeating what others have said — it tests both your thinking and collaborative communication skills.

Meet the ATAR threshold for your subquota: 99.95 (metro), 99.5 (rural/My Sydney), or 90 (Indigenous).
Sit Interview

We have not verified USyd's interview dates for the current cycle. Undergraduate interviews across Australia generally run from November to mid-January, with invitations from mid-October — but check USyd's own admissions page for your year rather than relying on that range.
