    The Monash Medicine Interview

    MMI
    6 × 5-minute stations + 2 min reading + 8 min answering (via Zoom)

A circuit of short, independent stations. You read a prompt, respond for a fixed time, then move to a new assessor and an unrelated scenario.

    When it happens

Interviews: A January round runs for Year 12 students who completed their studies interstate.

    Where it happens

    Online via Zoom.

    What is specific to Monash

    • Running online means your setup matters: test your camera, microphone and connection in advance, and choose a room where you will not be interrupted.

How to prepare for a MMI interview

    • Your worst station matters more than your best. Assessors do not confer, and scores are aggregated across the circuit, so consistency beats brilliance.
    • Practise finishing slightly early rather than being cut off. An assessor can only score what they actually hear.
    • Drill the reset between stations. Carrying frustration from a bad station into the next one turns one weak score into three.
    • Structure beats content at this length. Signpost your answer — say how many points you will make, then make them.
